Oakroom tracks the selections and allowances for a home build. This page says what we keep, who helps us run the app, and how to delete it. Questions go to hello@oakroom.app.
What we store
- Your email address, which is how you sign in.
- If you sign in with Google, the name and email address on your Google account. We use them only to sign you in and to show your name to the people in your projects. Nothing else comes from Google.
- The name you set on your account screen, if you set one. The people in your projects see it, and so does anyone you invite. You can change it or clear it there.
- Your projects: rooms, allowances, items, prices, notes, and who you share each project with.
- Photos you add to items, and the photos, files, links, and text you capture, with the rows read from them.
- The questions you ask in Ask. We do not keep the answers.
- Request logs (IP address, browser, and pages visited), kept by our hosting for security and troubleshooting.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies. The only cookies keep you signed in.
Who helps us run Oakroom
- Vercel hosts the app.
- Supabase stores your account, your projects, and your files.
- Google confirms who you are when you choose Continue with Google.
- Anthropic reads what you capture. A photo, file, link, or text you capture is sent to Anthropic's API, which returns the rows you then check. When you ask a question in Ask, the question goes to Anthropic with your project's rooms, items, and amounts, so it can answer. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, none of this is used to train their models.
- OpenAI writes down your voice notes. When you speak a note, the recording is sent to OpenAI's API, which returns the words. We delete the recording as soon as we have them, and OpenAI does not keep it or use it to train their models.
- Resend delivers our emails: sign-in links and project invites.
- Stripe takes payment for the build pass. We never see or store your card number.
Each of them handles your data only to provide their service to us.
Who can see a project
Only you and the people you invite to it. Everyone in a project can see the names and email addresses of its other members.
Deleting your data
- Delete a project from its settings. Its rooms, items, allowances, photos, and captures go with it.
- To delete your account and every project you own, email hello@oakroom.app from the address you sign in with. We do it within 30 days and write back when it is done.
Deleted data can stay in our providers' backups for a short time before those expire.
Children
Oakroom is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep their data.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
