Terms

Last updated September 26, 2026

These terms cover your use of Oakroom. By signing in, you agree to them. They are short on purpose. Questions go to hello@oakroom.app.

What Oakroom is

Oakroom is a place to keep track of the selections and allowances for a home build. It is a record keeping tool. It does not give financial, legal, or design advice, and it is not part of your contract with your builder. That contract decides what you owe.

Check what you save

Capture reads photos, files, and links for you, and it can misread them. Check every row before you save it. You are responsible for the numbers you keep in Oakroom and for what you decide with them.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to use Oakroom. You sign in with an email address or a Google account you control, and anyone who can read that email or use that account can sign in as you, so keep both safe.

Your content

What you put in Oakroom stays yours. You let us store it, process it (including sending captures to Anthropic to be read), and show it to the people you share a project with, only to run the service. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share.

The free plan and the build pass

The free plan covers 1 project, with up to 25 items and 10 captures per project.

The build pass is a one-time purchase of $99 for one project. It removes the item limit and allows 500 captures for that project, for as long as the project exists. It does not renew, and there is no subscription. Prices are in US dollars, and Stripe processes the payment.

Refunds: if the pass is not what you expected, email hello@oakroom.app within 14 days of buying it and we will refund it in full. The project then goes back to the free plan, and everything already in it stays.

Fair use

Do not try to break into Oakroom, overload it, scrape it, or use invites to send spam. We may suspend an account that does.

If Oakroom changes or ends

We work to keep Oakroom running and your data safe, but it is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We may change or remove features. If we ever shut Oakroom down, we will tell you at least 30 days before, so you can export your projects (the CSV and the selections sheet do that today).

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including overages, change orders, or decisions made from numbers in the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Ending

You can stop using Oakroom and delete your projects at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Virginia.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
